HA - Variable Extra Comfort Pricing - North America Flights

HA N. America segment now reflect variable pricing on Extra Comfort (EC) seats, providing our customers with choice and flexibility based on flight segment, travel period and location in the aircraft cabin. Following successful test in five key markets, these features went into effect November 1, 2021 on HawaiianAirlines.com, in both the booking path and “My trips”. 

 

Here are the highlights:

• Extra Comfort prices may change from the time of purchase if the customer makes seat changes post-purchase. If there is an increase in price, customers will be prompted to pay for the price difference. Customers may change to a cheaper seat, but will not be refunded the price difference. The system will track the resid[1]ual value leading up to departure to adjust for other possible seat changes.
  
• If the customer does not select an EC seat during the booking process (skip seat selection), the customer is defaulted to a Main Cabin fare/seat reservation.
  
• Variable EC prices apply to advanced purchase only. EC prices should be consistent across sales channels the day of departure.
  
• Variable EC prices apply to North America segments only at this time.
  
• Extra Comfort prices for international segments are based on the currency of the international origin or destination. Prices are converted to the point of sale currency based on the exchange rate. e.g. HNL-KIX or KIX-HNL, EC base price is  ¥ 15,000.
  
• Japan and Korea seat maps have ¥ or ₩ to indicate the additional cost for the Extra Comfort seat. This is due to the higher denominations for these foreign currencies. The user can hover over the seat to get the seat details along with the quoted Extra Comfort price
